Daytime Road Freight Transport Operator (M/F)

Our subsidiary Walon Bouchain, specializing in automobile vehicle transport and logistics, is recruiting an Operator M/F.

The position:

You establish a profitable schedule, ensure its follow-up, satisfy the client, and lead a team of drivers in compliance with the regulations of the Walon Bouchain subsidiary and its associated sites. Your main missions are as follows:

MANAGEMENT AND OPTIMIZATION OF TRANSPORT OPERATIONS

• You assign the transport operation to owned or chartered resources, in compliance with the specifications
• You ensure the entry of transport operations into the IT system
• You seek freight to reach Turnover and profitability objectives
• You manage driver hours (e.g., departure times, amplitude, and service time)
• You optimize transport costs (empty kilometers, parasitic mileage, tolls, washing ....) and loads (number of loaded vehicles)

ANIMATION AND MANAGEMENT OF THE DRIVER TEAM

• You give instructions to drivers in a precise and exhaustive manner
• You ensure compliance with the driver manual and client safety instructions (e.g., PPE, security, safety protocols)
• You participate in the evaluation of drivers
• You contribute to the integration of new drivers

CUSTOMER RELATIONS

• You have a good knowledge of clients and their market
• You handle order taking
• You provide a solution to all client requests
• You respect the specifications and ensure the client respects them
• You warn and propose alternative solutions in case of contingencies
• You collect information (volume variations, impossibility of delivery, competition, opportunities) and share it with the sales representative and the operations manager
• You give instructions to drivers in a precise and exhaustive manner

QUALITY - SAFETY - ENVIRONMENT

• You ensure that the transport is carried out (absence of reservations, call from the driver, the charterer, geo-location, compliance with deadlines...)
• You are sensitive to and raise awareness among drivers regarding environmental aspects (waste sorting, energy savings, CO2 emissions...)
• You monitor transport profitability with the tools provided

The profile sought:

Holding at least a high school diploma, you have significant experience in a similar position. You master:

• MS Office
• TMS software
• European social regulations and transport issues
• One or more foreign languages: English is a prerequisite, other languages (German, Polish, Lithuanian, CZK, Dutch).

Your compensation will consist of a monthly salary based on 39h per week and attractive health insurance.
