For our team in Bochum, we are looking for a: Specialist Energy Portfolio Management | Bochum (m/f/d)

The Quartierwerk of Vonovia is the local municipal utility of the housing industry and consists of several areas, including energy, metering services, and multimedia. Due to our proximity and close connection with the tenants, we are able to market products quickly and efficiently to create significant added value for our tenants beyond just housing.

Your Tasks

• Control and optimization of the energy portfolio (electricity and/or gas) in accordance with the short, medium, and long-term procurement strategy
• Implementation of procurement and hedging strategies on the spot market as well as development of suitable risk mitigation measures
• Analysis of energy economic and regulatory developments and derivation of recommendations for action
• Use of forecasting, valuation, and optimization tools to support sound procurement decisions
• Creation of market, risk, and portfolio analyses as well as meaningful reports for internal decision-making processes
• Continuous further development and automation of processes in portfolio management, e.g., in data processing, forecasting, and reporting
• Close cooperation with internal interfaces such as product management, risk management, commercial management, and IT

Your Profile

• Completed studies in energy economics, business administration, engineering, mathematics, computer science, or a comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in the energy industry, ideally in portfolio management, energy procurement, risk management, or energy-related IT
• Sound understanding of energy markets, pricing mechanisms, and risk management - experience in energy trading (e.g., EEX, EPEX Spot) is an advantage
• Passion for digitalization, data analysis, and process automation
• Analytical and conceptual thinking skills combined with a structured, independent way of working
• Strong communication skills, confident appearance, as well as negotiation skills and decisiveness
• Very good MS-Office skills (especially Excel, PowerPoint) as well as good written and spoken English skills
