Engineering Cost Analyst

Responsibilities and duties

Perform management of the R&D budget according to accounting rules and the objectives established by the company, acting from planning for future projects (PR/Roadmap/GARR), and supporting ongoing projects.

Consolidate R&D investment planning based on product, component, and current legislation roadmaps.

Support the definition of the annual budget, considering:

• Project account structure (labor VW, third parties, experimental material, purchased services);
• Resource and material needs of technical areas (supplies, maintenance, training, travel, and others) Specific costs such as hard currency, launching cost, planning cost, and connectivity.

Request the opening of accounting accounts and the creation of the engineering financial tree from the finance area.

Perform monthly accounting closing and forecast with detailing by:

• Accounting account (labor VW, third parties, experimental material, purchased services, and others);
• Project (EJA);
• Engineering area (Cost Center).

Deliver VW hours data per Program/EJ to the finance area, as reported in SEJA, for the calculation of deferred items.

Check and validate invoice inputs for:

• Provision of expenses;
• Reclassification of entries;
• Payment to suppliers.

Report monthly expenses and the forecast to Engineering Managers, and to the clients: Planning, Finance, Profit, and Traton.

Monitor and Analyze the performance and tracking of project expenses, accounts, and cost centers.

Control expenses by project, account, and area, comparing:

• Actual vs. Planned; Actual vs. Approved;
• Actual vs. Committed.

Develop and monitor financial and operational KPIs to support decision-making.

Support TPLs, Planning, and Finance with project performance analyses for presentation in PSKs.

Manage capitalized and non-capitalizable accounts, ensuring adherence to annual goals.

Manage Purchasing Processes.

Open and monitor purchasing processes for:

• Development services, testing, and other Engineering services;
• Product and non-product investments.

Manage outsourcing contracts and other technical services.

Administer payments via SPE and hard currency payments.

Check, post, and monitor invoices for services, investments, travel, and other expenses.

Validate mandatory documents upon delivery of the Invoice, for the release of payment.

Control the budget for experimental materials, auxiliary materials, maintenance, fuel, and others.

Manage software licenses and IT equipment used by technical teams.

Control travel performed by VW employees and third parties (outsourcing).

Control headcount of internal employees (VW) and third parties (outsourcing).

Support the company in identifying and obtaining tax and financial incentives, such as:

• Lei do Bem;
• MOVER;
• Financing lines from BNDES and other agencies.

Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with financial and operational processes.

Ensure the traceability and integrity of financial and documentary information.

Requirements and qualifications

Education:

• Business administration, economics, or related engineering.

Other specializations:

• Project management, financial management, or business management.

Language:

• Advanced English
