The Center for Organoid Systems (COS) is a new, interdisciplinary institute at the Garching research campus. The AG Hebrok is one of the founding members of the institute and researches pancreatic organoids with the aim of curing or preventing diseases such as diabetes and pancreatic cancer. Your tasks:

  • Cell culture, including maintenance and differentiation of human stem cells (hES and hiPS cells)
  • Independent execution of cell and molecular biological experiments (e.g., PCR, RTqPCR, flow cytometry, cloning)
  • Preparation of histological sections, staining, and immunohistology
  • Support in the management of mouse colonies and in vivo procedures
  • Close cooperation with scientists and execution of project-specific experiments
  • Documentation and interpretation of data, management of databases
  • Ordering and general laboratory organization

Your profile:

  • Completed training as a BTA
  • Experience with cell culture methods and basics in cell/molecular biological techniques is strongly preferred
  • Experience in the management and handling of laboratory animals is a plus; willingness to learn is required
  • Strong organizational skills and an independent way of working
  • Flexibility and reliability
  • Interest in learning new skills and working in an international team
  • Confident communication in English, both written and spoken
