Your tasks:

  • Your research activity should be in the field of the development of microstructured silicon detectors for applications in high-energy physics
  • Participation in the projects of the working group, in particular the construction of the pixel detector for the Insight experiment in the CmF Excellence Cluster, the integration and commissioning of the ATLAS ITk Pixel detector, as well as the design and development of concepts for future silicon pixel detectors
  • Documentation of scientific results and preparation of publications
  • Supervision of students in the context of theses and seminar papers

Your profile:

  • Completed university degree in physics
  • Very well-completed doctorate in the field of high-energy physics
  • Experience in the development and/or operation of silicon pixel or strip detectors
  • Programming skills (C/C++, Python)
  • Teamwork and communication skills
  • Willingness to undertake business trips to a limited extent
  • Above-average involvement in scientific exchange (conferences, reviews, research reports, etc.) and at least one international publication
  • Interest in interdisciplinary cooperation
  • Very good English skills
