In Bremen, we are a research, development and production site with currently approx. 500 employees, whose "high-end" measuring and analytical instruments (mass spectrometers) are used worldwide in research and science. Our innovative products, both in the field of Life Sciences MS as well as Inorganic MS and trace analysis, are among the world's leading products in the respective markets.
In this role, you will support development and product change projects of the Business Unit IOMS with a focus on electrical engineering and Product Compliance. In close cooperation with R&D and Engineering, you will ensure that relevant technical and regulatory requirements are taken into account early in the development process and translated into suitable technical solutions.
The focus of the position is on the development-related support of R&D projects in the sense of "Design for Compliance". Knowledge of relevant standards and regulatory requirements is an advantage; equally important are a sound understanding of electrical engineering and the ability to systematically familiarize yourself with new requirements.
A day in the life:
- Responsibility for the coordination and monitoring of the required Product Compliance activities (incl. CE conformity assessment) in development projects
- Support of product change projects with a focus on Product Compliance relevant, electrical engineering questions
- Introduction of relevant compliance requirements already in the early phases of product development in the sense of "Design for Compliance"
- Technical consulting and support of R&D and Engineering in the development and evaluation of novel electrical engineering product concepts
- Identification and evaluation of potential compliance risks as well as development of suitable measures together with the development teams
- Research, analysis and evaluation of relevant standards, directives and regulatory requirements
- Planning, coordination and evaluation of internal and external tests as well as derivation of required measures
- Evaluation of technical product changes regarding their impact on product conformity within the framework of Change Management
- Participation in the further development of development- and production-related processes, taking into account new or changed requirements
- Close cooperation within the Compliance team as well as with other internal and external specialist departments
The key to success:
Education and Experience
- Completed studies in Electrical Engineering or a comparable technical qualification, for example as a technician with corresponding professional experience and further training
- Ideally experience in the development of electrical engineering products, in the R&D environment, in verification and testing or in a comparable technical function
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Knowledge of relevant standards and directives, e.g. EN 61010, EN 60601, Low Voltage Directive, Machinery Regulation or IVD Regulation, is an advantage
- Willingness to continuously expand existing knowledge in the area of Product Compliance, product safety and regulatory requirements
- Strong analytical skills as well as a structured, independent and careful way of working
- Ability to analyze technical requirements and translate them into suitable solutions together with development teams
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills and a pronounced ability to cooperate in an international and interdisciplinary environment
- Very good English skills in speaking and writing
