Senior Entomologist

At Wonderful Citrus, we are looking for a Spray Operations Sr. Manager responsible for leading the comprehensive phytosanitary management strategy at a regional level. This position defines, standardizes, and optimizes pest control programs and agricultural applications, ensuring crop sustainability, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The role combines technical leadership and strategic vision, directly impacting productivity, crop quality, and business profitability. This is what you will do: Lead the regional Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategy. Standardize application programs (spray operations) across ranches and operations. Supervise technical teams and field leaders, ensuring execution aligned with objectives. Implement innovation initiatives in biological control, application technologies, and precision agriculture. Define and monitor KPIs related to phytosanitary control, operational efficiency, and costs. Ensure compliance with phytosanitary, food safety, and environmental regulations. Manage and optimize area budgets. Collaborate with Production, Quality, Food Safety, and other key areas. Evaluate phytosanitary risks and develop mitigation plans. Participate in the selection and evaluation of strategic suppliers. Develop technical talent within your team. Design and implement training programs for teams on pests and diseases. Ensure knowledge and correct application of products, including new formulations. Supervise constant monitoring of pests and diseases for timely decision-making. Develop and maintain relationships with research centers to drive innovation and best practices.
This is what you will bring to the team: Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Entomology, or a related field (Master's degree desirable). +8 years of experience in pest management, applied entomology, and agricultural operations. Solid experience in the implementation of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs and phytosanitary monitoring. Experience leading technical teams and operations in multiple locations. Advanced knowledge of agrochemicals, biological control, and new formulations. Experience in process standardization, continuous improvement, and definition of operational KPIs. Experience in training and developing technical field teams. Relationship or collaboration with research centers, universities, or technical entities (desirable). Knowledge of agricultural regulations, food safety, and environmental compliance. Advanced English. Availability to travel.
