Our teams intervene throughout the entire life cycle of infrastructure for monitoring and surveillance missions. With over 10 years of experience across a rich panel of national and international projects, SOCOTEC Monitoring France provides local support for auscultation, monitoring, inspection, and surveillance needs. This is in order to offer the best service, ensure the security of your projects, and optimize the maintenance of aging and critical infrastructure. Our experts serve project owners, designers, and construction or civil engineering companies wishing to investigate the ground before, during, or after a construction project. In order to master the entire value chain, SOCOTEC Monitoring designs, develops, and manufactures IoT wireless sensors used across all projects. We are looking for an Instrumentation-oriented Embedded Systems Engineer to strengthen our Hardware pole within the System department. You will work on the integration, interfacing, and validation of acquisition boxes and embedded systems intended for our sensors and monitoring solutions.
Main Responsibilities
Integration and interfacing
- Ensure the assembly of acquisition systems (wiring, fixing components on mounting plates, etc.)
- Perform the interfacing of analog and digital sensors (4-20 mA, SDI-12, RS485, etc.)
- Parameterize and configure embedded systems and associated communication modules
Validation and testing
- Verify the proper functioning of systems after production
- Implement test and calibration procedures for sensors, and act as a driver for continuous improvement and quality topics
- Diagnose and resolve electronic and communication malfunctions
Project support
- Support sensor production for various Socotec Monitoring France projects
- Occasionally participate in site interventions to assist instrumentation teams during sensor installation
- Collaborate with Civil Engineering and Data teams for the integration of systems into Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) projects
- Participate in R&D projects

Engineering degree (Master's level, Grande École engineering degree with specialization) in electronics, embedded systems, automation, instrumentation, or electrical engineering First successful experience in electronics, regardless of the field of activity; experience in structural monitoring or surveillance is a plus Basic knowledge of electronics, optics, mechanics, and metrology Notions of interfacing electronic and IT systems Mastery of scientific programming (Python or equivalent) and notions in data science Autonomy, enthusiasm, and communication skills English at a professional level, both written and spoken Driving license (Permis B) required — possible travel in France and internationally "Problem solver" mindset, solution-oriented
