Design Engineer Plant Engineering & Test Instrumentation (m/f/d) (Engineer - Mechanical Engineering)

You will undertake demanding design tasks related to the test instrumentation and validation of gas turbines and their components. Your focus will be on the development of special designs for sensor applications as well as the structural design of piping, peripheral and auxiliary systems in the test field. In doing so, you will work with complex 3D assemblies in Siemens NX and accompany your solutions from the concept phase to the complete technical product definition.

Your Tasks

• Development and design of special instrumentation and sensor applications for the validation of gas turbines and their components
• Creation of technical concepts and model designs as well as conducting feasibility and risk assessments
• Design of piping, peripheral and auxiliary systems as well as positioning of the gas turbine within the test field infrastructure
• Creation and maintenance of complex 3D CAD models in Siemens NX including collision, space and installation investigations
• Creation of the complete technical product definition with 3D models incl. PMI, 2D drawings, installation drawings and bills of materials
• Technical coordination with manufacturing and suppliers regarding manufacturability and feasibility as well as conducting space checks on-site

Your Qualifications

• Completed degree, at least Bachelor, in Mechanical Engineering, preferably with a focus on Design
• At least 5 years of professional experience in mechanical and plant engineering, mandatory with design experience in plant engineering or the power plant sector
• Very good knowledge of Siemens NX and confident handling of large, complex 3D assemblies; Creo knowledge is an advantage
• Experience in plant design as well as ideally knowledge in turbomachinery, gas turbines and measurement technology/test instrumentation
• Strong technical and solution-oriented thinking as well as a structured, independent and responsible way of working
• Good English skills in speaking and writing as well as strong communication skills for collaboration with internal departments and suppliers
