Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH, with around 6,000 employees and an annual crude steel capacity of approximately 4.7 million tons, is the largest steel subsidiary of the Salzgitter Konzern.

In the transport center of Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH, a wide variety of vehicles are managed, ranging from standard passenger cars to special, rescue, municipal, and heavy transport vehicles with a total weight of up to 450 t. The fleet currently consists of approx. 760 vehicles.

For the transport center area, we are looking for an Engineer for Vehicle Technology (f/m/d) at the earliest possible date.

Location: Salzgitter / Niedersachsen

Your tasks:

• You are responsible for the new procurement, new and further development, optimization, and conception of sophisticated and extraordinary transport solutions for vehicles and services in the context of our production logistics. Together with partners (f/m/d), you realize these and put them into operation
• You analyze ongoing processes and tasks regarding maintenance activities on the vehicles and special machines, deriving improvement measures regarding product quality, availability, uptime, etc., for the vehicles and the transport equipment
• You participate in area-specific and cross-departmental projects in the context of logistics, transport, and construction
• You participate in weakness analysis and risk assessment for individual vehicles and devices and support the stockpiling and supply of spare parts and consumables
• You contribute to the identification and implementation of all necessary measures to comply with legal and internal company regulations, requirements, and guidelines for occupational and environmental protection

Your requirements:

• You have successfully completed your Diploma or Master's degree with a focus on vehicle technology, agricultural machinery technology, or automotive engineering/mobile systems
• Desirably, you already have professional experience in the described field of activity and are thus familiar with the peculiarities in the analysis and optimization of processes and procedures
• You have an understanding of cross-disciplinary connections as well as knowledge of diagnostic systems (e.g., CAN-Bus, vehicle telemetry) and have knowledge in design with CAD programs
• You have "diesel in your blood" and thus a high affinity for vehicles as well as heavy machinery, and your enthusiasm for technology distinguishes you
• You have very good MS Office skills, use SAP S/4HANA confidently, and can communicate well in English
• You are strong in communication, a team player, and your way of working is characterized by a pronounced hands-on mentality and a high orientation towards implementation
• You possess a class CE driver's license or are willing to acquire it
