Legal Counsel | jö Bonus Club (m/f/x)
The REWE Group significantly shapes the Austrian food retail market with its retail companies BILLA, PENNY, BIPA and ADEG. We owe this success to our approximately 47,000 employees. The jö Bonus Club holds a special position within the corporate group – one of Austria's most successful customer loyalty programs, which inspires millions of users and is constantly being further developed. This success is based to a considerable extent on clear legal frameworks and reliable legal advice within the corporate group. Particularly in the environment of the jö Bonus Club – characterized by data-driven business models and strong partner networks – legal support plays a central role. In this position, as Legal Counsel, you will be part of our legal department and support the jö Bonus Club as an internal "customer." Your focus will be on data protection and contract law – from the drafting and negotiation of partner contracts to the legal securing of innovative, data-based Use Cases. You will support specialist departments and managers with complex issues, prepare well-founded statements, and develop practice-oriented solutions for a dynamic environment. Embedded in an experienced Legal & Compliance team, you will contribute to identifying legal risks at an early stage and securing economically viable decisions. Clear frameworks. Smart data solutions. Strong partnerships. Flexibility included: We offer this position both full-time and part-time from 30 hours per week.
You manage central topics in data protection and contract law, develop clear guidelines, and ensure their effective implementation in the jö Bonus Club. In this role, you significantly shape the design, negotiation, and legal securing of partner and cooperation contracts, thereby actively strengthening the partner network. You continuously develop Legal & Compliance structures, drive risk analyses, and effectively implement regulatory requirements – especially in data protection. In day-to-day business, you are responsible for drafting and reviewing various types of contracts and supplement these with practical, economically viable solutions. In addition, you act as a central interface for internal specialist departments, clarify legal issues, and coordinate external law firms in a targeted manner. Ongoing proceedings are actively accompanied, statements are managed, and decision-relevant content is prepared clearly and appropriately for the management.
You have a completed degree in law (Diploma or Master's degree) and, in particular, possess knowledge in data protection and contract law. Several years of professional experience in a company's legal department and/or in a law firm is a prerequisite for this position. Very good written and spoken English skills are required due to increasing international projects. You enjoy assessing legal matters in a solution- and business-oriented manner, actively shaping them, and developing practical solutions. You also bring a high degree of flexibility, negotiation security, and assertiveness, as well as strong communication skills in exchange with different business partners and within the team. Willingness to learn and a sense of responsibility round off your profile.
