JOB DUTIES Do you want to contribute to the dentistry of the future and simultaneously develop in your professional role? Folktandvården Kronoberg offers a unique opportunity to combine clinical patient activity, 50 percent, with doctoral education, 50 percent. Here you will have the opportunity to conduct patient-oriented research with direct relevance to your clinical practice, while being part of an active research environment with support from experienced supervisors and researchers.

Being a doctoral student means that you are admitted to a doctoral program where you follow an individual study plan. A doctoral student devotes half of their time to a research project under supervision, supplemented by courses and other learning activities. For a doctoral degree, the equivalent of eight years of education at the doctoral level on a part-time basis is required.

The PhD position is linked to Folktandvården's FoUUI unit (Research, Development, Education, and Innovation) and your clinical service is within general dentistry or specialist dentistry. If you already have employment within Folktandvården Region Kronoberg, you will retain your clinical position and clinic affiliation while becoming part of the Folktandvården FoUUI unit's research environment. Your immediate manager is the department head at the clinic where you hold your clinical position. Questions regarding the doctoral education are handled by the supervisory group and the head of the FoUUI unit. Your research project must be clinical and patient-oriented and can touch upon all aspects of the field of oral health. The project must lead to patient and/or societal benefits.

As a doctoral student within Region Kronoberg, you are covered by the region's guidelines for salary setting and salary review.

You will have a permanent employment in your base profession; the doctoral position applies for 8 years.

The scope corresponds to 50% doctoral education and 50% clinical time.

QUALIFICATIONS To participate in the selection for a PhD position, you must prove both the basic and the specific eligibility requirements.

You meet the basic eligibility requirement if you:

• have completed a degree at an advanced level (magister or master's degree), or
• have completed course requirements of at least 240 higher education credits, of which at least 60 credits are at an advanced level
• have acquired, in any way within or outside the country, primarily equivalent knowledge

You meet the specific eligibility requirement if you:

• have the necessary knowledge from higher education or equivalent education and/or professional experience assessed in relation to the doctoral research area
• have the necessary language skills in English; both written and oral skills are required

Merit:

• 3-5 years of professional experience and previous experience in research activities.

Your application must include:

• A research plan presenting the research direction and dissertation idea (max 4 pages).
• A proposal for a main supervisor and a co-supervisor. At least one of them must be employed at Folktandvården, Region Kronoberg.
• A proposal for academic sponsorship (university and department).
• Personal letter and CV.
• Any theses and publications.
• Other documents that prove the requested skills and qualities.
• Documents proving the basic eligibility requirement.
• Documents proving the specific eligibility requirement.

Prerequisites:

Among the qualified applicants, a collective assessment will then be made by Folktandvården Kronoberg's FoU group. The doctoral position begins on the condition that the applicant is admitted to doctoral education at a college/university.

Salary form: Monthly salary. Employment form: Fixed-term employment. Duration: 6 months or longer, start date: According to agreement. Working hours: Daytime.
