Working Student Security & Privacy Officer

What you do In a close-knit team, you will work together to handle daily security incidents and questions from the client. We do this in ‘shifts’ during office hours; during your shift, you oversee the incoming issues, which vary in nature and complexity. You handle a large portion yourself, and for more complex issues, you seek collaboration with the right colleagues. You work closely with the Information Security Officers within Northwave and learn how to set up and implement an Information Security Management System (ISMS). You look critically at our service and make improvement suggestions so that we continue to improve continuously.

Because you get a look behind the scenes at many different clients, no two days are the same. In a short time, you will learn a lot about various security issues. This role is therefore a great foundation for gaining experience within the privacy and security domain. It is also possible to carry out an internship or graduation project during your studies, or to grow into an Information Security Officer after your studies. We are happy to discuss the best fitting growth path with you.

The team As a Working Student Security & Privacy Officer, you are certainly not alone, but work together with a team of experts, allowing you to continue developing your professional knowledge. Additionally, the team works closely with the 250 other ‘experts’ within Northwave who have their own expertise.

What we expect from you

• Basic knowledge of security and privacy
• At least halfway through your relevant studies in which security or privacy issues are addressed. For example, Integrale Veiligheidskunde, Information Security Management, Privacy recht and Crisis & Security Management, Cybersecurity Governance or Information Sciences.
• A continuous urge to keep developing yourself and learning
• Customer-oriented attitude and a true team player
• Good professional skills and accurate work
• Proficiency in the Dutch and English language
• Availability of at least 1 day per week (flexible to schedule)
• But most importantly: passion for Security
