And your main activities will be: 

Lead the SSMA management of the operation, ensuring excellence in safety, health, and environment;

Act in the implementation and strengthening of SSMA systems, procedures, and standards;

Lead teams and contracted companies in large mining projects and operations;

Participate in strategic meetings with stakeholders, board of directors, and operational leadership;

Develop and monitor SSMA indicators, action plans, and management results;

Prepare, review, and present documents, reports, and presentations in English;

Act in risk identification, audits, incident investigation, and implementation of preventive actions;

Be the SSMA technical reference for the client and other interested parties.

For this position, we expect you to have: 

Education: Degree in Engineering with a specialization in Occupational Safety Engineering;

Vast experience in mining and large industrial works/projects;

Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and contracted companies;

Previous experience in international mining projects;

Fluent English, with the ability to conduct meetings, presentations, and prepare technical documents;

Experience interfacing with the board of directors, stakeholders, and international clients;

Knowledge of international SSMA standards;

Desirable experience in multicultural environments;

Desirable experience with the implementation of management systems and safety culture in large-scale operations.

Availability for on-site work and residence on the African continent.

Desirable knowledge or experience in the ISO 14001 standard: Environmental Management System (EMS)
