Substitute Lecturer in Statistics, part-time

Statistiska institutionen was created in 1929 and is the oldest institution at Ekonomihögskolan. Approximately 20 researchers, teachers, doctoral students, and administrators, as well as about ten teaching assistants, work here. We conduct research in several statistical areas, including analysis of high-dimensional data, bayesian methods, spatial-temporal models, and non-gaussian modeling, as well as education in statistics at all levels. We are seeking a substitute lecturer on a part-time basis (70%) for a substitute position.
Tasks
Teaching in the course STAE03 Statistik: Affärsanalys. Development of teaching regarding regularization methods in the aforementioned course. Supervision of bachelor's theses in statistics may also occur.
Qualifications
Eligibility
Those eligible for employment as a lecturer are those who have both demonstrated pedagogical skill and have obtained a degree at an advanced level or have otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge, as well as have other competence that is significant with regard to the subject matter of the employment and the tasks included in the employment.
Requirements
Doctoral degree in statistics At least two weeks of higher education pedagogical training. Very good ability to teach, present, and discuss in English.
Merit
Active research on regularization methods is highly meritorious. Documented pedagogical interest in teaching mathematics and statistics is meritorious.
Assessment Criteria
As assessment criteria for the employment of a lecturer, the degree of such skill that is a requirement for eligibility for employment shall apply. When employing a lecturer, the following assessment criteria shall apply:
good subject knowledge relevant to the content of the employment and the tasks included. good pedagogical ability, which means a good ability to conduct and develop teaching and other pedagogical activities at different levels and with varying teaching methods. very good professional experience or other experience relevant to the employment.
In the assessment, the applicant's experience, knowledge, commitment, and personal qualities, such as good experience in collaborating with colleagues, will be taken into account.
Terms
Substitute part-time (70%) for 3 months. Taking into account the needs of the operations, the position shall be assumed on October 19, 2026. Applicants who cannot assume the position on this date cannot be considered for the employment.
