Patent and Scientific Information Analyst (M/F)

We are looking for a Patent and Scientific Information Analyst to join our Knowledge Center, composed of a team of 8 people reporting to the Innovation Strategy Office of the Lesaffre Group R&D Department. This team is responsible for managing scientific information and patents for the entire Group. As a referent for certain themes, you will guarantee proactive support to R&D teams, contributing to the development of strategic orientations and the advancement of innovation projects. You will also participate in the detection and evaluation of new exploratory paths. Thus, your main missions are: Strategic analyses for innovation: Perform statistical and qualitative analyses of the scientific and patent environment (searching for partnerships and experts, complex and strategic patent overviews, etc.). Actively contribute to the inspiration, ideation, and maturation of innovation projects (sharing insights, developing strategies). Participate in Freedom to Operate (FTO) studies by selecting and analyzing state-of-the-art documents, in collaboration with patent engineers.
Patent monitoring and competitive intelligence: Ensure consolidated monitoring and analysis of the patent environment in the Group's areas of interest and key players, continuously updating the scope in accordance with the strategic orientations of the Business Units (BU) and Group R&D. In connection with patent engineers, participate in the development and animation of the PI (Intellectual Property) strategy of the BUs. Contribute to the Group's Economic Intelligence network and competitive analysis.
Management of digital tools and technological prospecting: Participate in the management and evolution of digital tools dedicated to the Group's scientific and patent information. Permanently prospect for new tools and technologies (generative AI, semantic analysis, data visualization, etc.) to optimize the management, analysis, and sharing of information. Participate in external networks of patent information professionals (PDG, CFIB, etc.) and stay informed of developments with digital solution providers.
Support for R&D teams: Train and support scientists to make them autonomous in performing monitoring and prior art searches. Co-develop, if necessary, internal tools with scientific teams to strengthen their autonomy.
Education: Minimum Master's degree level (agro-food engineering school, higher scientific training in biology or biotechnology), ideally completed by a specialization in monitoring, information science, economic intelligence, or intellectual property. Minimum 5 years of experience in functions involving the research and analysis of scientific and patent information within R&D teams, or in consulting firms / solution providers. Skills: Mastery of scientific and patent information research and analysis tools, including AI functionalities (mapping, data visualization, semantic analysis, etc.). Ability to structure, exploit, and analyze databases, and to present results via market solutions or internal developments. Innovative spirit to propose new methodologies or tools, and to challenge existing processes with a view to continuous improvement. Excellent writing and synthesis skills to make information actionable. Mastery of English (written and oral) – all deliverables are produced in English. Interpersonal skills, rigor, synthesis skills, curiosity, and team spirit. Adaptability to changes (tools, technologies, organization). Listening skills to understand the challenges of R&D teams and the market, in order to adopt a proactive approach in the dissemination and analysis of information. Animation skills to make your analyses actionable and to feed the strategies of your interlocutors.
