Postdoc in bio-based functional carbon materials
Tasks
The employment includes experimental research on bio-based functional carbon materials, including biochar, graphite, graphene, and activated carbon. The work involves the production and modification of materials through thermal and catalytic processes as well as activation and purification, followed by structural, chemical, and functional characterization. The postdoc will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance of relevant laboratory equipment and analytical instruments.
The employment also includes supervision of undergraduate and graduate students, participation in scientific publications and research applications, as well as certain administrative support within the research activities.
Qualifications
Requirements
- A completed doctoral degree or a foreign degree assessed to correspond to a doctoral degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
- Good knowledge of English, both oral and written, as required in daily work.
- Experience in biomass conversion, catalytic graphitization, activation, purification, or exfoliation of carbon materials.
- Experience with characterization methods such as Raman spectroscopy, XRD, SEM/TEM, BET surface analysis, TGA, or elemental analysis.
- Experience in supervising undergraduate or graduate students.
- Experience in electrochemical testing, adsorption studies, or other application-oriented evaluation of carbon materials.
Meritorious
- At the time of the application deadline, no more than three years since the doctoral degree or a foreign degree assessed to correspond to a doctoral degree was obtained.
- Experience in supervising undergraduate or graduate students.
- Experience in participating in or leading research projects.
- Knowledge of advanced characterization methods for carbon materials.
- Experience in research-related administrative tasks, such as project coordination and reporting.
- A strong scientific publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
- Awareness of diversity and equal treatment issues with a particular focus on gender equality.
