Research Engineer in Python Development and Visualization
Tasks We are seeking a research engineer to develop ImpactTwin, an interactive tool based on digital twins for climate adaptation. The focus is on Python development and visualization of infrastructure disruptions and possible measures. You will integrate geographic data and model results, develop interactive maps and diagrams for scenario comparisons, and test and document the prototype. You will work together with Golnaz Taheri, Zahra Kalantari and the research team.
Qualifications Requirements A completed master's degree in computer science, data science, engineering or a related field, or an equivalent foreign degree. Very good practical knowledge of Python and experience in data processing. Experience in data visualization, for example diagrams, maps or interactive interfaces. Ability to write clear code as well as test and document software. Good collaborative skills and the ability to work independently. Good knowledge of English for collaboration and documentation in an international research environment. Awareness of diversity and equal treatment issues with a particular focus on gender equality.
Meritorious Development of interactive visualizations and web interfaces, for example with Plotly, Dash or Streamlit. Geographic data and GIS, for example GeoPandas or Folium. Network and graph analysis, simulation or machine learning. Version control and collaboration with Git.
