Project description

Research education subject: Technical Mechanics

This project, which belongs to the EU doctoral network FairCFD, combines high-performance computing, experiments, and artificial intelligence to study non-Newtonian flows, in order to improve rheological characterization and modeling. Specifically, a digital twin is being developed for reliable measurement of parameters in complex fluids in time-varying and chaotic flows.

Modern AI techniques will be utilized to find spatial patterns in computational and experimental data as well as to optimize sensitivity for various parameters. The researcher will be part of the dynamic research group Complex Fluids and will have access to supercomputer resources at KTH, Swedish e-Science Research Centre (SeRC) as well as the prominent research environment FLOW.

Supervision: Outi Tammisola and Fredrik Lundell are proposed to supervise the doctoral student. Decision is made upon admission
