Welding Specialist Engineer (m/f/d) (Engineer - Mechanical Engineering)

You identify and evaluate potential suppliers for complex welding assemblies with regard to their development potential and are significantly involved in the preliminary selection of suppliers
You create concepts and implementation plans for the setup of welding production lines at our suppliers
You determine and communicate the technical and normative requirements necessary for the production of welding assemblies as part of the know-how transfer to the selected suppliers
You determine and coordinate the required support scopes of other departments within the framework of the entire know-how transfer and manage the necessary exchange of information with the selected suppliers
You undertake the welding technical consulting and support of suppliers from the start of production until the successful start of series production
You support, if necessary, quality management with first article inspections, supplier audits, and acceptances, as well as with necessary measures for welding technical approvals and qualifications
You are available to other departments of KNDS regarding welding technical questions within the framework of supplier management
You have a successfully completed degree in mechanical engineering or a comparable degree as well as the additional qualification as a Schweißfachingenieur IIW1170
An additional plus is your additional training as a Klebefachingenieur EWF3309/EWF662 or the willingness to acquire it
A NDT qualification, especially in the VT process, is desirable
You have comprehensive and reliable knowledge of relevant manufacturing processes (thermal cutting, welding incl. automated welding, milling, etc.) and materials (high-strength steels, aluminum alloys)
Knowledge in 3D-CAD and standard software
Business fluent English skills as well as ideally French skills combined with the willingness to undertake regular business trips domestically and abroad
