Pedagogical Specialist (m/f/d) – Residential Child and Youth Care (Ireland)
Give young people support. And start a job with meaning. This is not a "quiet" job. And that is exactly what makes it so special. You will work in a Residential Care Setting with adolescents (8–18) who are currently unable to live with their families. Your task: create safety, structure, and stability – stay calm when things get restless – and make real development possible. If you don't just want to do "something in the social sector" but are truly looking for impact, then this is for you!
Your daily mission: You accompany young people in everyday life – therapeutically, structured, clear. Specifically: You support assessments and, together with the team, implement Placement Plans, Behaviour Support Plans (BSP), and Individual Crisis Management Plans (ICMP).
You strengthen everyday & Life Skills and help with emotional regulation and challenging behavior.
You ensure education: If someone does not go to school: 1:1 or group learning according to plan.
If someone goes to school: homework, routines, structure.
You document cleanly (good documentation is part of protection here).
You work together with Supervisors, specialist agencies, parents/Carers, and Referral Agencies.
You pay attention to Health & Safety and implement risk checks in daily house life.
You keep the environment "homey" (cooking, order, team sports).
Depending on experience: you take over Shift-Leading / coordination.
