RESPONSIBILITIES:

The main responsibilities are: 1) Consolidated and multi-project accounting

  • Supervise general/analytical accounting
  • Produce consolidated accounts & financial statements
  • Guarantee the allocation of donations, grants & contributions
  • Ensure internal control, financial risk management & compliance with legal & regulatory obligations

2) Multi-program management control and resource allocation

  • Implement multi-axis management control: budgets by program, monitoring of consumption, co-financing, structure costs vs direct costs
  • Organize the global budgeting process:
  • Consolidated private & public budget
  • Arbitrations, prioritization of resources
  • Analyze variances, corrective actions
  • Provide tools for general management & governance bodies for decisions regarding allocation & redeployment of resources between programs

3) Treasury and multi-funding

  • Manage global cash flows
  • Build cash flow forecasts integrating multi-year program commitments as well as donor payment schedules
  • Drive the multi-funding strategy

4) Automation & AI

  • Map cross-functional finance processes
  • Deploy automation solutions for:
  • Collection & integration of financial data from programs
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Production of standardized reporting by program and globally
  • Implement adapted AI use cases:
  • Anomaly & risk detection: over/under-consumption, allocation inconsistencies
  • Budgetary & cash flow forecasting
  • Simulations of resource allocation scenarios between programs
  • Assistance in drafting & formatting financial reports for donors
  • Ensure data quality, traceability, and security

5) Reporting to governance bodies and donors

  • Consolidated financial reporting
  • Lead the financial part of the annual report
  • Guarantee the production of reporting requested by donors in connection with the Grant office, development department & international philanthropy
  • Ensure the relationship with external auditors & control authorities, including (multi-entity/multi-program)

6) Management and coordination of finance teams

  • Supervise finance teams & coordinate managers
  • Harmonize finance practices & tools between programs: accounting charts, validation procedures, reporting formats
  • Lead the transformation towards a more digital, data-driven & collaborative finance function

REQUIRED PROFILE:

Technical skills:

  • Mastery of general and analytical accounting and consolidation (multi-entity / multi-program),
  • Solid experience in project management control and management of multi-funded budgets (public donors, private, patronage, etc.),
  • Skills in treasury, financial risk management and internal control,
  • Very good mastery of Sage 1000, reporting tools, automation solutions (workflows, RPA, BI) is strongly appreciated,
  • Data/AI culture applied to multi-program management.
  • Fluent English, written and oral

Behavioral skills:

  • Ability to work in a complex environment (multiplicity of programs, donors, calendars, rules),
  • Rigor, integrity, sense of transparency and the general interest,
  • Leadership and ability to lead transformation projects.

Transversal skills:

  • Sense of pedagogy and cooperation with laboratory directors, program directorates, operations, development and innovation directorates
  • Demonstrated experience in managing budgets > €50M in multi-funding

Experience & degrees:

  • Master's degree (Bac+5) in finance, accounting, management control, audit or equivalent,
  • Significant experience (5-10 years) in finance management in a multi-entity/multi-project environment, foundation sector strongly appreciated

Contract:
