Technical Manager Systems Engineering Land Systems (m/f/d) (Project Manager)

Job Description

In our "Land Combat Support Systems and Platforms" department, we work on the analysis and introduction of complex military Army systems that are currently under development, as well as the transition to the operational phase, production, and the maintenance of operational readiness.

The Defence & Security division is specifically committed to the armed forces and is a recognized technical service provider at national and international levels in the conception of solutions, the support of analysis, development, and realization projects, and the provision of services.

Activities

• Ensuring the uniform and high-quality application of Systems Engineering in customer projects across all sub-methods and technical disciplines
• Technical consulting and support for the department / sub-division in your field of expertise, Systems Engineering, particularly regarding offers and projects, as well as through internal training
• Conception of ideas and measures for the methodical further development of Systems Engineering and dimension-specific requirements management, as well as the creation of standards and Best Practices specifically for the Land Systems dimension
• Supporting our customer in the development, introduction, and use of Army systems
• As needed, leading (sub-)projects in the subject area of Systems Engineering, with guidance and technical leadership of the employees assigned to the projects
• Representing IABG at symposia, congresses, and similar events in the field
• Competent handling of internal and external interlocutors as well as maintaining a trusting customer contact with representatives of the Army, the public client, and industry

Requirements

• Completed studies in the fields of Computer Science, Natural Sciences, or Technology/Engineering
• Several years of professional experience in Systems Engineering and requirements management for technical systems, preferably military land systems
• Certification according to INCOSE (SEP) or GfSE (SE-Zert) desired; ideally also according to CPRE, at least Advanced Level
• Knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering and Enterprise Architecture methods as well as associated modeling tools and standards
• Sound experience with requirements management tools (preferably Require.7 and DOORS NG)
• Very good English skills, both written and spoken
• High degree of reliability, sense of responsibility, and initiative, paired with a customer- and solution-oriented way of working

As Technical Manager Systems Engineering Land Systems, you are responsible across projects and departments for the methodical, uniform, and high-quality application of Systems Engineering in the Land Systems dimension across all sub-methods and technical disciplines. Furthermore, you will develop the method together with project managers and customers and create standards and Best Practices for future projects. In outstanding projects, you will also take over (sub-)project management in your field of expertise as required.
