The Chair of Applied Stochastics and Risk Management deals with a wide spectrum of topics in applied stochastics. These include, in particular, the validity of regression models, game and decision theory, as well as evidence-based statistics. The chair holder also conducts research in the fields of capital market theory and portfolio optimization, financial mathematics, and the robust estimation of covariance matrices with complete and incomplete data.

The focus of your activity is independent research in one of the three research areas mentioned below in close scientific cooperation with the chair holder. The position offers the opportunity for joint publications and for scientific further qualification, particularly for a doctorate or habilitation.

Area of Responsibility:

The employment relationship is governed by the provisions of the Tarifvertrag für den öffentlichen Dienst (TVöD) in conjunction with the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (WissZeitVG).
