The Central Department Information Services and Computing is the service, competence, and coordination center for the entire IT infrastructure of the HZDR.

To strengthen the Artificial Intelligence group, we are looking for you as a Research Associate (f/m/d) Junior Helmholtz.AI Consultant.

Your tasks

  • Design, test, training, evaluation/benchmarking, and use of image processing models and models on tabular data
  • Presentation and communication of results at international conferences and in peer-reviewed journals
  • Developing explainability methods for AI predictions

What distinguishes you

  • Completed university degree (Bachelor/Master/Diplom) in the field of Computer Science, in scientific disciplines, or comparable fields
  • Experience and knowledge - in supervised learning image processing architectures (Unet, StarDist, Cellpose, CPN, nnUnet, SAM, Dino, Yolo)
  • in benchmarking ML systems and evaluation metrics
  • in Machine Learning of tables (scikit-learn, xgboost)
  • in reproducible programming and reproducible data science
  • in FAIR data management
  • in the use of HPC systems
  • with explainability methods for computer vision models
  • Self-organized, creative way of working as well as a communicative, tolerant, and resilient personality with pronounced curiosity
  • Fluent English skills
