The GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung in Darmstadt operates one of the leading particle accelerator facilities for science. Currently, the new FAIR (Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research) facility is being built in international cooperation, one of the largest research projects worldwide. We are looking for the Purchasing and Materials Management department at the earliest possible date for a

Purchaser (m/f/d)

Reference number: 26.87-8200

for the procurement of services and goods in accordance with public procurement law.

Your tasks include, in particular, the procurement of operational and business equipment, services, laboratory supplies, auxiliary and operating materials with the following duties:

• Creation of inquiries, processing of incoming offers
• Creation of price comparisons, calculations, and procurement law assessments
• Negotiation and awarding of services

Furthermore, you are the competent contact person for the specialist departments on procurement-relevant topics.

Your Profile:

• a completed commercial vocational training or a comparable qualification
• professional experience in purchasing
• ideally knowledge of public procurement and contract law
• SAP and MS Office skills, as well as good English skills.

You also work with an eye for detail and possess a strong team-oriented way of working. Good communication skills, reliability, and a confident manner round off your profile. A basic understanding of the connections and processes required to meet the demands of large research infrastructures is desirable.
