Our division includes approximately 350 employees across the sites of St-Valérien-de-Milton, Ayer's Cliff, Laval, Caledon, and Calgary, under the brands Tenco and Les Équipements Everest.

Working Conditions

Your Mandate
As a Buyer, your primary objective is to ensure a reliable, smooth, and cost-effective supply of materials, components, equipment, and services essential to our operations. You transform the needs of internal teams into optimized purchasing strategies, while building proactive supplier relationships to guarantee deadline compliance, avoid shortages, and maintain data accuracy. In synergy with production, planning, engineering, and logistics, you play a key role in the continuous improvement of our processes and the optimization of our supply chain.
Your 4 main areas of impact
- Operational Procurement
Analyze procurement needs based on production forecasts, inventory levels, and internal requests. Maintain up-to-date supplier data, prices, contracts, and procurement parameters in the ERP system. Issue and follow up on purchase orders with suppliers. Negotiate prices, commercial terms, contracts, and procurement agreements.
- Management of Supplier Information Flows
Ensure proactive and strategic communication with suppliers to guarantee compliance with delivery schedules and continuity of operations. Manage complex procurement files, including issues related to capacity, lead times, non-conformities, and technical changes. Manage and analyze order-related discrepancies: delays, quality issues, or billing problems.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting
Monitor procurement-related performance indicators to optimize costs, lead times, and quality. Identify, qualify, and develop new suppliers to maintain a reliable and competitive supply chain. Analyze recurring discrepancies, identify their root causes, and propose corrective action plans.
- Multi-department Coordination & Contribution to Transformation
Collaborate closely with engineering, production, quality, planning, and finance to ensure the availability of required products. Play an active role in identifying and resolving bottlenecks to ensure smooth operations. Lead cost reduction, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives. Profile Sought Education & Experience Degree (BAC or DEC) in operations management, logistics, supply chain, or administration. 6 to 10 years of experience in operational purchasing within an industrial or manufacturing environment. Experience managing high volumes of orders with production constraints. Excellent understanding of production, planning, and logistics flows. Proficiency in an integrated ERP (SAP, JD Edwards, or equivalent). Asset: Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, or electromechanical components. Proficiency in French and English (bilingual environment). Soft Skills (key assets) Autonomy & Proactivity: Ability to prioritize and act quickly while maintaining fluid communication with stakeholders. Team Spirit & Service Orientation: Solution-oriented, you enjoy collaborating with operations to avoid any line stoppages. Rigor & Result Culture: Focused on delivery reliability, deadline compliance, and discrepancy control.
