Heavy Works Team Leader (M/F)
Within the Rolling Stock Maintenance activity, you will lead a team composed of supervisors, dispatchers, team leaders, technicians, and repairers. As a true hands-on manager, you are the guarantor of safety, operational performance, the quality of interventions, and the skill development of your teams. Daytime position from Monday to Friday, based in maintenance workshops, on platforms, or at the France/England Yard. Position may be subject to on-call duties.
The main missions:
Management and team development Supervise, support, and develop teams on a daily basis. Drive collective performance, conduct individual interviews, and annual evaluations. Organize activities, adjust resources, and ensure field follow-up. Develop employee skills through training and coaching. Ensure the integration of new arrivals and lead team meetings. Manage the budget for your scope and participate in cross-functional projects. Safety Guarantee compliance with safety, quality, and environment rules. Perform field checks, identify risks, and implement appropriate corrective actions. Promote the safety culture among teams and lead dedicated discussions. Supervise work authorizations and ensure the processing of incidents and feedback. Service quality and performance Guarantee the execution of activities in compliance with objectives, contractual commitments, and quality standards. Monitor the quality and compliance of interventions, analyze deviations, and implement corrective actions. Drive performance indicators, activity controls, and associated reporting. Participate in actions to improve and increase the reliability of rolling stock. Coordination and communication Drive the progress of the production plan and adapt the organization according to unforeseen events. Ensure coordination with support services and stakeholders. Develop positive, constructive, and solution-oriented communication. Keep steering tools and visual management up to date. Operational excellence Monitor and analyze the performance indicators of your sector. Contribute to continuous improvement processes and process optimization. Participate in actions aimed at improving operational efficiency and reducing waste. Be proactive in the evolution of methods and organization.
The profile & skills:
BTS or equivalent minimum. Significant experience in team management within an industrial or maintenance environment. At least 5 years of experience in the field of railway rolling stock. Technical English. Good knowledge of maintenance activities, safety, quality, and environment requirements. Ability to drive performance and make decisions in an operational environment. Leadership, organizational skills, rigor, and autonomy. Excellent interpersonal skills, positive communication, and team spirit. Proactive, analytical capacity, and a taste for continuous improvement.
