Etterretningstjenesten – Knowledge about the world for the protection of Norway

The mission of Etterretningstjenesten is to collect information and provide warnings about conditions abroad that may threaten Norway and Norwegian interests. We are now looking for an eager-to-learn, independent, and committed Information Manager.

Tasks

You will contribute to solving the section's mission by being responsible for data flow and information management across the section's various professional environments. As an IM, you will be responsible for supporting analytical processes, managing data intake for the section, and information flow towards other units.

The section has an extensive portfolio and widespread contact with other environments both within and outside Etterretningstjenesten. As an IM, you will contribute to a holistic and managed development of processes and digital tools for data flow and information management.

Qualifications

The position has the following requirements that must be met to be considered a candidate:

• Relevant master's degree or education at an equivalent academic level. Other education and long relevant experience with good results may, upon assessment, compensate for a lack of formal education beyond a bachelor's degree or education at an equivalent level.
• Courses or education within digitalization, digital transformation, or artificial intelligence
• Good familiarity with the use of SharePoint, including setup of workspaces and pages
• Good knowledge of data and information flow, as well as automation and database tools
• Good familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Groovy or others, for scripting and automation
• Good knowledge of digital tools for coordination and communication processes
• Good basic intelligence understanding, and the importance of the value chain from source to product

In addition, it is desirable if you have:

• Good familiarity with Etterretningstjenesten and Forsvaret
• Experience with partner cooperation
• Very good language skills in English

Special requirements for a position in Etterretningstjenesten:

Applicants must satisfy the requirements for the highest security clearance.

For employment in Etterretningstjenesten, one cannot have any citizenship other than Norwegian at the time of employment.

The position is subject to compulsory service, cf. the Defense Act and the Defense Personnel Regulations, which means that you can be ordered to international operations. This normally occurs on the basis of willingness. Compulsory service entails requirements for medical and physical fitness and basic English skills. If you do not meet the requirements, you have the opportunity to apply for an exemption.

You will receive an annual salary within the range of NOK 785,000 - 980,000 in the position of Senioringeniør/Seniorrådgiver (code: 1181/1364) according to the current Hovedtariffavtale. Final salary placement and position code depend on qualifications.
