Organization Introduction

The Coupang Eats FP&A team works closely with business and finance organizations to support the growth and financial performance of the Eats business in Korea and Japan. We focus on future-oriented planning and analysis, connecting and analyzing the impact of business and operational status on the P&L.

The team integrates various perspectives across the business to establish the management perspective and Outlook for the Korea and Japan Eats business. We also operate rapidly changing planning processes, such as the 3-year Long-Range Plan (LRP), annual Budget, quarterly Latest Best Estimate (LBE), and weekly Forecast updates. This position provides direct responsibility for specific P&L areas along with broad experience across the entire Eats business. You will collaborate closely with FP&A leaders, build partnerships with senior leaders, contribute to the preparation of management reporting materials, and receive autonomy to improve financial models and FP&A processes.

Job Description

  1. Management of Forecast and Planning for Core P&L Items

You will take a proactive role in managing the Forecast, planning, and performance analysis for the Korea Fixed Costs area, and perform management tasks for Tech Costs in Korea and Japan, as well as Headcount and other fixed costs, alongside the FP&A Lead.

You will establish Driver-based Forecasts by connecting business and operational assumptions to financial performance and derive key risks and opportunities.

You will collaborate directly with senior functional leaders regarding manpower planning, technology investment, resource allocation requirements, and the resulting financial impacts.

  1. Supporting the Establishment of Management Outlook for the Korea and Japan Eats Business Overall

You will collaborate with the FP&A Lead to support the establishment of a comprehensive management perspective, Forecast, and Outlook for the Korea and Japan Eats business.

You will collect various information from finance and business organizations and analyze key factors affecting growth, investment, and profitability.

You will derive and share major changes, risks, opportunity factors, and their impact on the company-wide P&L.

  1. Participation in the Full FP&A Planning Cycle

You will support the 3-year Long-Range Plan (LRP), annual Budget, quarterly Latest Best Estimate (LBE), and weekly Forecast update processes.

You will analyze how business outlooks are changing, why they are changing, and the impact of those changes on the P&L.

You will contribute to the preparation of management reports, Deep Dives, and financial analysis materials, thereby supporting decision-making for Eats management and Coupang senior finance leadership.

  1. Building and Improving Financial Models and FP&A Processes

You will build and continuously improve financial models for your assigned areas, and redesign existing methods to introduce better solutions when necessary.

You will improve Forecast methodologies and contribute to advancing the planning and management reporting processes.

You will utilize data, automation technology, and Generative AI to streamline repetitive tasks and build an environment where you can focus on more strategic, future-oriented analysis and business partnering.

Qualifications

6+ years of relevant finance experience, including experience in Forecast, planning, and P&L analysis.

Excellent business partnership skills, financial modeling skills, and Excel proficiency.

Ability to analyze Operational Drivers by connecting them to financial performance.

Ability to structure and solve ambiguous problems.

English communication skills.

Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
