European & International Advocacy Officer (M/F)
The structure and context
Contre-Feu, the alliance against the tobacco industry (formerly ACT, the Alliance against tobacco), is a general interest counter-lobby that has been working for over 30 years to create a world without tobacco and nicotine products. Contre-Feu conducts awareness and advocacy campaigns denouncing the strategies and manipulations of the tobacco industry, the deadliest activity in the world.
In addition to bringing together more than 20 NGOs, Contre-Feu mobilizes decision-makers, civil society actors, the media, and public opinion to see the emergence of the first tobacco-free generation in France by 2032.
To support it in its future projects, Contre-Feu is looking for an European and International Advocacy Officer on a CDI contract starting in September 2026.
Missions
Reporting to the advocacy department of Contre-Feu and under the direction of the advocacy manager, you will be involved in the development, dissemination, and implementation of the advocacy carried out by the association.
In this capacity, your main missions will be the following (and may evolve according to needs):
European and International Advocacy
- Monitoring current affairs related to tobacco and nicotine products;
- Drafting notes on various subjects related to the fight against smoking and nicotine addiction;
- Drafting emails, making contact, and arranging meetings with public decision-makers;
- Responding to public consultations;
- Participating in the development of the European and international advocacy strategy;
- Speaking at conferences or public events.
These tasks notably require recurring travel to Brussels.
Relations with Contre-Feu members and allied organizations:
- Preparation and participation in working groups for Contre-Feu members;
- Participation in meetings of EU and international organizations to which Contre-Feu is a member;
- Reporting on the work carried out by the Advocacy department.
Profile sought Profile
You wish to invest yourself in a cause of general interest and you are:
- With a BAC +5 degree in political science, law, or public affairs, you have one to two years of professional experience, ideally within an associative structure, in a public affairs firm, or as an assistant to a European or French parliamentarian;
- You have a very good knowledge of European institutions and their various applicable rules and procedures;
- You have a real affinity for our cause or more broadly an interest in public health policies as well as in subjects related to our campaigns (environment, human rights...)
- You demonstrate rigor and organization;
- You have writing skills and perfectly master spelling;
- You enjoy teamwork operating in project mode;
Languages spoken:
- Fluent English (minimum C1)

Benefits: meal vouchers with a face value of €12, company health insurance covered at 50%, occasional teleworking.
Remuneration: From €35 K€ gross annual depending on experience
Job location: Paris, 13 rue d'Uzès 75002 (recurring travel abroad to be expected, particularly to Brussels)
