As the domestic intelligence service of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz (BfV) makes a significant contribution to the security of its citizens.

To strengthen our team in Cologne or Berlin, we are looking for a/an

Officer (m/f/d) for the field of Islamism/Islamist Terrorism

Your Tasks

You will support the unit management in leadership, steering, planning, and coordination tasks and represent them permanently during absences.

You will act as a competent contact person for exchange with national and international security authorities and contribute to their networking. Your tasks include the independent conception, implementation, and analysis of projects for the technical and strategic development of your area. Furthermore, you will support the conception and implementation of training and specialist events.

Your Profile

You hold German citizenship and possess a completed Master's degree

• in the study programs Intelligence and Security Studies or Islamwissenschaft or
• in one of the following fields of study: Verwaltungswissenschaften, Wirtschaftswissenschaften or Politikwissenschaften

Furthermore, we expect:

• fundamental knowledge of Islamism and Islamist terrorism
• good proven English skills (min. B2 according to GER, not older than four years at the time of application)
• strong teamwork skills, independence, organizational skills, and gender and diversity competence
• above-average oral and written expression
• willingness to familiarize yourself with operational-technical subject areas
• willingness to undertake multi-day business trips at home and abroad.

Preferably, you have one to two years of professional experience in a security authority.

Salary and Perspective

• permanent employment in salary group 13 TV EntgO Bund (annual gross salary from €62,489.15 to €89,579.84)* as well as the possibility of later appointment as a civil servant
• transfer of civil servants up to A13 BBesO A subject to meeting the career law requirements
• payment of an intelligence service allowance

*depending on the possibility of recognizing the degree and previous experience
