As the domestic intelligence service of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz (BfV) makes a significant contribution to the security of its citizens.

To strengthen our team in Berlin, we are looking for an

Employee (m/f/d) in Information Gathering

with very good language skills in Arabic

Your Tasks

In addition to your office-based activities, you will also be active in the field to gather case-relevant information that is regularly not publicly accessible. As part of our team, you will use your language and cultural knowledge to obtain intelligence information in Arabic from various sources and subsequently analyze it. You will independently make operational preparations and organize, for example, required technology or vehicles. Subsequently, you will write reports on your findings and cooperate in this context with other domestic and foreign security authorities.

Your Profile

You possess German citizenship and have

• as a civil servant (Beamte/r), the career qualification for the upper non-technical administrative service and task-relevant prior experience in a security authority

or

• a completed degree (Bachelor/Diplom [FH]) in the field of "Near and Middle East", "Islamic Studies" or "Arabic Studies"**

In addition, you have very good Arabic language skills and good English skills. Language tests will be conducted as part of the selection process.

Furthermore, we expect:

• the willingness to perform independent field work, involving multi-day business trips also outside of regular working hours
• a confident appearance and high communication skills
• knowledge of relevant laws and regulations concerning the activity
• relevant understanding of dialects and cultures of the corresponding regions

Salary and Perspective

• permanent employment in pay group 11 TV EntgO Bund (annual gross salary of €55,078 to €81,615)* as well as the possibility of later civil service status
• transfer of civil servants up to A 11 BBesO A, provided the career law requirements are met
• payment of an intelligence service allowance

*depending on the possibility of recognizing the degree and prior experience periods

** Students may also apply who aim to complete a corresponding degree no later than six months after the application deadline.
