The Position

As a Senior Scientist Pharmacokinetics, you will play a central role in the further development of innovative solutions in the area of Animal Health, from early research to development. In a globally networked environment, you will contribute your scientific expertise to enable data-driven decisions and shape sustainable therapeutic strategies. In close cooperation with cross-functional teams, you will translate complex pharmacokinetic insights into impactful development plans.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • As a central scientific contact person, you will represent pharmacokinetics in global, cross-functional R&D teams, from early drug discovery through candidate selection to the development of various Animal Health modalities.
  • Through the evaluation and integration of PK, PK/PD, and DMPK data, you will generate holistic insights that define target and product profiles and steer the program strategy in veterinary drug development.
  • You will design, manage, and interpret PK and PK/PD studies and ensure that these comply with regulatory requirements, animal welfare principles, as well as high scientific and qualitative standards.
  • With your expertise in innovative PK analysis and PK/PD modeling, you will support the optimization of drug candidates, provide decision-making bases for important milestones, and strengthen global development strategies.
  • Through your participation in regulatory filings and exchange with authorities, you will provide sound scientific and technical input to ensure a robust PK/PD justification across development programs.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in Life Sciences (e.g., pharmacy, biology, veterinary medicine, or comparable) as well as several years of relevant industry experience in drug research and/or development (experience in the area of Animal Health is an advantage)
  • Sound expertise in pharmacokinetics as well as in the assessment of exposure-response relationships across various therapeutic modalities
  • Proven experience in the planning, management, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of in vivo PK and PK/PD studies
  • Experience in using pharmacokinetic modeling and simulation tools (e.g., Phoenix, R, PK Sim, GastroPlus)
  • Good understanding of regulatory requirements, study design principles, scientific best practices, as well as GLP
  • Experience in risk assessment and minimization as well as the ability to translate scientific data into development strategies and decisions
  • Strong teamwork skills as well as the ability to work effectively in global and cross-functional teams
  • Very good communication and presentation skills in English; German language skills are an advantage
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously as well as strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills
