Product Development Assistant

The GPD Support Officer will assist in the product deployment and implementation process for the production site, working closely with GPD officers at the plant to ensure timely and efficient product setup for first order readiness. They play a key role in facilitating internal communications and supporting rapid response projects and initiatives aimed at elevating our customers' brands and ensuring internal continuous improvement. This position primarily provides internal assistance with the goal of driving agility and simplification.
REPRESENTATIVE ACTIVITIES:
Activities and functions may vary depending on the assigned functional area and may include, among others:
- Support reengineering efforts in collaboration with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality teams.
- Ensure the local manufacturing team receives all necessary elements to achieve an efficient and high-quality production process (lean production) (specifications, color standards, and work instructions).
- Manage trial orders, product sampling, and test orders.
- Support the production area in problem-solving during initial orders and post-deployment stages.
- Provide setup and implementation support to GPD officers.
- Facilitate direct plant support for special projects or samples that require additional attention in the production area.
- Assist in updating pricing projects.
- Support internal teams in raw material analysis for changes from global to local specification substitutions.
- Create requisitions for dies, samples, and miscellaneous items.
- Register new raw materials and other purchasing items in the ERP system.
- Support laboratory testing stages.
- Keep the die-cutting database up to date.
- Intermediate English: Ability to write emails and sustain business conversations.
- Education: Current student of Industrial Engineering (preferred, but not indispensable) or related careers.
- Experience: Entry level, 0 to 1 year of experience in product development, customer service, or production areas.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Analytical thinking: Analytical capacity for the development of roadmaps and numerical problem-solving.
- Attention to detail: Ability to organize information thoroughly and structurally; ease in managing multifunctional situations.
- Industry knowledge: Desirable knowledge in the Apparel Industry, its products, and applications.
- IT tools: Desirable proficiency in Microsoft Office and G-Suite tools.
- Interpersonal and communication skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a teamwork-oriented mindset.
- Working relationships: Ability to build solid working relationships with internal teams.
