Responding to the challenges of the energy transition and strengthening our sovereignty are 21st-century priorities. At the heart of these issues, Assystem supports its clients in the realization of their most strategic projects. And to achieve this, our 8,000 Switchers mobilize their expertise in engineering, project management, and digital. Present in 13 countries (Europe, Middle East, Central Asia, North America), we contribute to the development of new nuclear electricity production capacities, the maintenance of existing installations in operational conditions, as well as the design and realization of critical infrastructures, particularly in the defense sector.

The internship is part of an innovation project relating to the digitalization of the operation of a REP-type reactor. You will work more specifically on the exploration of methodologies for the digitalization and automation of operating rules in Incidental/Accidental (CIA) or Severe Accident (AG) situations for the EPR (Evolutionary Pressurised Reactor). This project is carried out by the Nuclear design office teams in Ile-de-France and is done in connection with CIA and AG engineers. The objectives of this internship are to: Perform a physical analysis of the impacts of accidents on the plant; Analyze CIA operating strategies; Define a tool that will serve to create a database of the analysis performed; Automatically generate an operating rule. In the first stage, you will need to master: The global operation of an EPR-type reactor; The "Conduite" (Operation) pathway of the ASSYSTEM Institute and the existing CIA and AG skill development pathways; The logic of the State-Based Approach (APE); The technical notes for accidental transient analyses; The internal ASSYSTEM tools associated with the operation – conduite profession; The work carried out during previous internship campaigns. In the second stage, you will: Analyze accidental transients and the behavior of Elementary Systems (SE) during these transients; Propose a model allowing for the completion of data from the public safety report; Integrate the APE loop principle into the proposed models; Create a link between operating strategy and accident (CIA); Automate the drafting of operating rules. You will facilitate the sharing of your work via regular and dynamic reporting, following an input data plan and a previously defined schedule. Why do your internship at Assystem?
