End-of-studies Internship – PV & BESS Sizing and market valuation models
Who are we? We are an engineering group, a major player in the fields of building, water, energy, industry, and mobility. 100% owned by our employees, we are united by a single passion: practicing a profession that combines the art of designing with ingenuity and the art of realizing with commitment. Our 11,000 employees, in more than 40 countries, create solutions for a positive life every day through our strategic challenges for the planet and humanity. Our teams are human-sized, prioritizing proximity, daily exchanges, and the sharing of experience. To facilitate reading, inclusive writing is not used in the body of this announcement; the masculine terms used refer equally to women, men, and non-binary people.
Main Mission – PV & BESS Sizing and market valuation models: Within the Photovoltaic and Storage (PVS) team, you will be trained in the challenges associated with EnR power plants. Following the work carried out for the past 2 years on the modeling of Battery system services on the markets and with the support of the internship tutor, you will be responsible for: Mission 1: Updating and optimizing our PV-BESS-Consumer techno-economic modeling tool. Integration of new use cases (ground-mounted plants, IRVE/V2G, studies of new consumers, ....) Updating with regulatory evolutions Development of new client deliverables Continuous improvement (code clarity, bug fixing,...)
Mission 2: Redesign of the generic technical specifications for EnR plants, in order to address IPP (Independent Power Producer) clients and our AMO (Assistant à Maîtrise d’Ouvrage) services Mission 3: Benchmark of economic valuation models. Monitoring regulatory evolutions of electricity markets Meetings with aggregators
Secondary Mission: Support for studies: discovery of the daily life of a design engineer You may be mobilized by project managers to participate in the realization of missions for our clients, such as feasibility studies, Due Diligences, yield studies, or EnR plant design. Your team Independent of any industrialist or investor, ARTELIA offers a full range of consulting and engineering services in the energy field. You will join the Energy Storage/Photovoltaic pole of the Renewable Energies (EnR) department. The EnR department has been working in the field of photovoltaics, wind, and storage since the early 2000s and consists of about fifty people from diverse backgrounds, creating great diversity (M/F, nationality, age...), an enthusiastic mix of dynamism and experience. This department is organized into poles (Photovoltaic, Storage & Flexibility, Wind, and Multi-Energy) in order to develop expertise within them and put it at the service of projects while ensuring the transversality necessary for hybrid projects. The missions carried out cover: A wide spectrum of services (strategy, feasibility studies, simplified and detailed preliminary designs, tender documents, execution study reviews and construction monitoring, consulting, audit) while acting as Maitre d’Oeuvre (MOE) or Assistant à Maitrise d’Ouvrage (AMO)
A great diversity of projects: ground-mounted, floating, rooftop, solar carports, grid-connected or not, with or without storage,
A wide variety of clients: international funders, energy developers, local authorities...
A diversity of locations: France, DOM-TOM, Argentina, El Salvador, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Benin, Togo, Niger, Vietnam, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique...
Our team intervenes, for example, on the reconfiguration of the electrical distribution of an industrial site in France following a photovoltaic self-production project, or on hybrid plants in Kenya, or even on the grid connection of a large ground-mounted plant project in Central America.
Your assets You are preparing a BAC+5 level training specialized in energy or modeling Behavioral skills: Autonomy, taking initiative, analysis/synthesis, organization, understanding of needs, curiosity about the energy profession, and the ability to convey technical knowledge to non-experts. Professional skills: Knowledge in modeling and data analysis. Basic knowledge of electrical systems (production, distribution, markets) and the renewable energy environment in France. A basic understanding of photovoltaic plants and battery electricity storage will be valued. Awareness of or an interest in energy markets will be appreciated.
