Your team: ARTELIA, a globally recognized engineering firm in the maritime field, is pursuing its development in the field of coastal and port development engineering in France and internationally. As an integral part of the Maritime activity (nearly 80 people in France) and under the supervision of the manager of the Port Planning and Design team (about ten engineers), you will join a multidisciplinary team composed of design engineers, technical referents, and project managers working on port development projects. Driven by both private actors (port operators, industrialists) and public actors (port authorities, funders, ...), these technical as well as organizational or operational studies take place in the upstream phase of port development projects: master plans, feasibility studies, preliminary design studies. Aware of new port challenges, the Maritime activity also integrates essential dimensions for project implementation into its reflections, such as the environment, territorial strategies, eco-design, resilience, adaptation to climate change, or energy transition.
Your missions: Due to the "transversal" nature of the PCP team and particularly this port engineering engineer position, missions will be varied and will notably consist of: Design of port structures: Participating in the design of maritime structures from the perspective of vessel berthing (navigation, docking, and mooring studies); Performing hydraulic and hydrodynamic studies, master plan design. Performing studies of floating structures (vessels, caissons, pontoons, etc.) Design and dimensioning of water intakes and discharges.
Port planning: Performing planning and operational development studies for port sites; Conducting a Cost-Benefit Analysis of the proposed developments.
In a second stage, you will be led to take an increasing role within the team. Project management: Performing and/or managing studies in France and internationally, Reporting on studies to clients, Managing the contractual and financial follow-up of business,
Development: Participating in the commercial development of the activity (responding to calls for tenders and consultations, client relations, ...), Providing support for the development of the team's tools and methodologies.
You will work on projects in France (including Overseas) as well as internationally (Europe, Africa, Asia, Middle East). Proficiency in English is necessary. To carry out these missions, you can count on the skills of your team as well as on Artelia's network of multidisciplinary experts. The projects you will be led to work on can range from navigation studies on our simulator to the modeling of goods flows for the validation of port dimensioning (basins, quays, and reclaimed land) based on desired traffic and expected operational characteristics. The team you will join promotes multidisciplinarity and will offer you the possibility to evolve according to your interests and wishes, project after project.
