The Role: The Commercial Sales Consultant is responsible for driving sales growth, profitability, and exceptional service within an assigned commercial market territory. Reporting to the Commercial Market Manager (CMM), this role partners closely to develop and expand existing commercial accounts while actively prospecting new business opportunities. The consultant creates and delivers compelling sales presentations, provides pricing, specifications, and samples, and leads commercial projects from initial client engagement through successful completion.

This role requires a strong passion for sales, marketing, and relationship-building, along with a commitment to delivering the elevated, luxury client experience synonymous with the Waterworks brand. This position offers a clear growth path to Commercial Market Manager.

When not meeting with clients, this role is onsite daily at our 58th Street showroom.

Responsibilities Develops strong selling acumen and a deep understanding of the company’s go-to-market strategy for the Commercial/Hospitality division through mentorship and guidance from the CMM

Achieves and exceeds sales goals for the assigned market through focused business development and strategic selling activities

Cultivates and maintains strong relationships within the architect/design, builder, and luxury hospitality communities

Builds an independent book of business by following up on CMM-generated leads, managing exploratory accounts, and proactively prospecting and researching clients and projects

Partners closely with the CMM to provide seamless coverage of the territory, including support when the CMM is traveling

Collaborates with the CMM to develop and execute targeted prospecting strategies to drive market growth

Accurately tracks leads, opportunities, and marketing activity in the Sales Portal

Supports the CMM in securing, managing, and maintaining details for large and complex projects

Represents Waterworks at client meetings, industry, and networking events

Delivers exemplary service to strengthen long-term client relationships while identifying and securing new business opportunities

Partners with cross-functional team members to implement innovative approaches to marketing and selling Waterworks products

Assists with operational processes to ensure brand standards and a premium client experience

Develops and works toward mastery of foundational plumbing and product knowledge to effectively troubleshoot project needs

Collaborates with the CMM and Accounting/Finance to ensure project profitability and manage outstanding receivables

With guidance from the CMM, prepares and delivers professional sales presentations to successfully win projects

Models Waterworks values internally within the Commercial division and externally with clients

Performs additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Minimum of 2 years of sales experience, preferably within a high-end or luxury brand environment

Knowledge of plumbing, construction, or building materials preferred

Proven ability to prospect, generate leads, and conduct effective cold outreach

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities

Demonstrated strengths in persuasion, negotiation, and client presentations

Excellent written, verbal, and active listening communication skills

Exceptional time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership, initiative, and accountability

High attention to detail with consistent follow-through on commitments

Travel required up to 30% as needed to client offices and job sites

Proficient in Microsoft Office; quick to learn and adapt to new technologies and systems

Interior design experience or exposure is a plus
