Financial Controller
Are you an experienced Financial Controller? Do you enjoy being trusted to make your own decisions and having the freedom to improve processes; if so this is a really exciting opportunity. You’ll join an established, stable family business in Wellingborough as their sole Financial Controller, taking full responsibility for finance and working directly with the owners. It’s a broad, hands-on role with plenty of autonomy and the opportunity to make the finance function your own.
Financial Controller (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, AAT or QBE) Wellingborough, Northamptonshire • Established Family Business • Autonomous Role Key Responsibilities
- Full ownership of the finance function
- Month-end reporting
- Cash flow management and forecasting
- P&L and balance sheet reporting
- Producing the trial balance
- Providing clear financial information to the business owners
- Accruals and prepayments
- Maintaining the fixed asset register
- Posting journals
- Purchase and sales ledger
- Bank reconciliations
- VAT returns
- Running BACS payments
- Credit control
- Reviewing existing finance processes and implementing improvements
- Identifying opportunities to improve controls, reporting and efficiency
- Supporting the owners with financial information and commercial decisions
About You
- ACCA, ACA, CIMA Qualified (or equivalent)
- Experienced in managing a broad, hands-on finance role
- Comfortable being the sole finance person and taking full ownership
- Confident communicating financial information to business owners and non-finance colleagues
- Able to work independently and use your own judgement
- Naturally interested in improving processes and finding better ways of doing things
- Practical, organised and approachable
- Happy working in an established business where the focus is on stability, quality and doing things well
