Valmet is offering a full-time Trainee, Commercial Analytics position at its Espoo head office from September 2026 to March 2027 reporting to the VP, Commercial Excellence.
The trainee will support global commercial analytics projects by developing analytics solutions, preparing reports and dashboards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Candidates should have ongoing or recently completed master-level studies in analytics or related fields, strong Excel skills and experience with tools like Python, Power BI or SQL, fluent English, and good teamwork abilities.

We are seeking a Trainee, Commercial Analytics to join Valmet’s Commercial Excellence team. In this role, you will be an active member of our team, supporting analytics initiatives and contributing to Valmet’s commercial transformation journey and customer success. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in analytics and commercial development in a truly international environment.
The preferred location for this position is Valmet’s Head office in Espoo, Finland. This is a fixed-term position, starting in September 2026 and continuing until March 2027. You will report to the VP, Commercial Excellence.
Key responsibilities:
Work as an active member of the Global Commercial Excellence team, supporting analytics-related tasks and projects
Assist in developing and delivering commercial analytics solutions that help improve business performance
Contribute to preparing reports, dashboards, and insights for global stakeholders
Collaborate with different functions and regions in a truly global environment
To be successful in this position, you will need:
On-going master-level studies in Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a closely related field
Keen interest in commercial analytics, sales development, and/or pricing analytics in a B2B industrial environment
Previous work experience in analytics or related tasks is an advantage
Strong Excel skills and some relevant experience with data analytics tools, e.g. Python, Power BI, or SQL
Fluent in written and spoken English; other language skills are an advantage
Good communication and teamwork skills
