Estimation Engineer – MEP
Job Purpose: Prepare accurate MEP estimates, quantity take-offs, BOQs, and tender pricing for construction projects, ensuring technical compliance and competitive commercial pricing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review MEP drawings, specifications, BOQs, and tender documents.
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and other MEP systems.
- Prepare material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and installation cost estimates.
- Analyze technical specifications and identify scope requirements.
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Prepare MEP tender pricing and cost breakdowns.
- Coordinate with Civil, Architectural, Procurement, Commercial, and Engineering teams.
- Identify discrepancies, missing scope, exclusions, and technical/commercial risks.
- Support tender clarifications and negotiations.
- Maintain MEP cost databases and historical rates.
- Ensure estimates are accurate and submitted within tender deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 5–7 years of MEP estimation experience in construction.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems and construction methodologies.
- Experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and related systems.
- Strong quantity take-off and BOQ preparation skills.
- Good knowledge of MEP materials, equipment, labor, and subcontractor pricing.
- Strong Excel and AutoCAD skills.
- Experience with estimation software is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and commercial skills.
- Strong knowledge with Estimation techniques.
