SMX is seeking an experienced Tactical Mission Network (TMN) Training Lead to supervise and manage a cadre of instructors delivering the Operator Lethality Course to tactical-level users on-site in Taiwan. This role is responsible for the standardization, quality, and execution of all course delivery, ensuring instructors adhere to established programs of instruction and maintain a consistent, high-quality, training experience across all events. The Training Lead will support training events at various locations domestically and overseas, including potentially austere or conflict-adjacent environments, as determined by the client.

This position requires a DoD Secret clearance which requires US citizenship for work on US contracts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Instruction & Course Delivery

Deliver the Operator Lethality Course curriculum to tactical-level military personnel, covering the full suite of TMN tools, their functionality, and practical field applications across all assigned training events

Lead hands-on practical exercises and scenario-based vignettes designed to reinforce operator proficiency with tactical mission network capabilities, joint fires integration, and remote advise and assist tactics

Incorporate current real-world lessons learned from ongoing conflicts, including commercial data integration for operational preparation of the environment (OPE), unmanned systems employment, and C2 integration

Operate, set up, and troubleshoot all training systems, end-user devices (EUDs), and unmanned systems (drones) prior to and during each training event

Adhere to the standardized lesson plan and course schedule provided by the Training Lead, delivering up to 8 hours of instruction per day across 4–5 day training events

Support compressed course schedules when pre-coordinated with the Training Lead and client

Student Assessment & Feedback

Lead after-action reviews (AARs) and student feedback sessions at the conclusion of each training event

Assess student comprehension and performance throughout the course, providing real-time coaching and remediation as needed

Submit all student rosters, attendance records, and feedback results to the Training Lead following each event

Logistics & Event Coordination

Coordinate with the on-ground unit point of contact to confirm facility, device, roster, and logistical requirements prior to training

Pack, transport, and maintain accountability of all training equipment, including EUDs, drones, and Pelican-cased equipment kits, ensuring proper handling during transit

Conduct pre-deployment site surveys when traveling the night prior to training kick-off, confirming setup and coordination with the on-ground POC

Configure and test all network infrastructure, end-user devices, and demonstration systems prior to course commencement

Quality & Compliance

Execute all training in strict accordance with the standardized program of instruction (POI) and client-approved lesson plans

Maintain awareness of updates to TMN capabilities, tools, and best practices, incorporating changes as directed by the Training Lead

Comply with all applicable security, travel, and conduct requirements, including Federal Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) for all CONUS and OCONUS travel

Maintain eligibility to travel domestically and internationally on short notice, including to austere or high-risk environments

Working Conditions

Instructor-led classroom and field training environment; may include austere, remote, or OCONUS locations

Must be able to operate in facilities equipped with personal electronic devices and high-density Wi-Fi infrastructure

Physical ability to set up, transport, and manage training equipment, including Pelican-cased device kits and drone systems

All travel governed by Federal Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) and applicable contract requirements

Required Skills & Experience

4+ years of experience operating tactical mission network platforms, C2 systems, or related capabilities in a military or special operations context

Active secret security clearance

Demonstrated hands-on experience with end-user devices (EUDs) and unmanned systems (drones) in a tactical or operational environment

FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate or equivalent military UAS operator qualification

Prior experience as a military instructor, trainer, or subject matter expert (SME) delivering formal or operational training to military audiences

Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS on short notice, including to austere and potentially high-risk locations

Strong communication and facilitation skills; ability to explain complex technical capabilities in operationally relevant terms

Desired Skills & Experience

Background in special operations, joint fires, targeting, or C4ISR systems

Experience with commercial data integration tools for operational preparation of the environment (OPE)

Familiarity with advise and assist mission sets and partner force training environments

Experience with remote advise and assist tactics utilizing tactical mission networks

Experience developing or revising programs of instruction (POI) or training materials

Prior deployment experience to OCONUS locations in support of combat or contingency operations

The proposed salary for this position is: $165,000 — $201,000 USD
