Location: Central London Salary: Competitive + Benefits Robert Half is partnering with a high-growth, private equity-backed business to recruit a Transactional Manager (Finance Operations Manager). This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced, multi-site organisation operating across the UK and Europe. The business is experiencing significant growth and requires a commercially minded finance leader to oversee and enhance its transactional finance function. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the end-to-end finance operations function, leading a team across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, billing, banking and cash management, while driving process improvements, automation and operational excellence. This role would suit a qualified finance professional who enjoys improving processes, leveraging technology and building scalable finance operations within a growing business. Key Responsibilities Finance Operations Lead the day-to-day transactional finance function, overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, billing and banking activities. Ensure accurate and timely invoicing across multiple entities and locations. Oversee cash allocation, bank reconciliations and cash management processes. Manage supplier payment runs and working capital processes. Drive strong credit control and cash collection activities. Support month-end close by ensuring reconciliations are completed accurately and on time. Maintain robust financial controls and balance sheet integrity across operational finance. Process Improvement & Automation A key part of the role will be identifying opportunities to improve, simplify and automate finance processes. You will: Review existing workflows and identify efficiencies across AP, AR and banking. Reduce manual processes through automation and better use of systems. Lead finance systems enhancements and process optimisation initiatives. Partner with internal stakeholders to improve operational effectiveness. Support finance transformation projects and technology implementations. Develop KPI reporting to monitor team performance and process efficiency. Team Leadership Lead, mentor and develop a transactional finance team. Create a culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement and high-quality service. Ensure workloads are effectively managed and prioritised. Develop team capability through coaching, training and performance management. Improve resilience through documentation, process standardisation and cross-training. Controls & Governance Maintain strong financial controls across all transactional finance processes. Ensure finance policies and procedures are clearly documented and adhered to. Support audit requirements and strengthen the overall control environment. Identify operational risks and implement practical improvements. Stakeholder Management Build strong relationships across finance and operational teams. Act as a trusted business partner while maintaining appropriate financial controls. Support the wider business with process improvements, training and finance best practices. About You Essential: ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified. Proven experience leading and developing transactional finance teams. Strong understanding of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, billing, banking and financial controls. Demonstrable experience improving finance processes and driving automation. Strong systems and ERP experience. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholder groups. Most Important Things (MITs) The client is particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate: Qualified accountant status (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a strong academic and professional background. Proven team management experience, including developing teams and improving AP/AR processes. Experience within a multi-site environment, ideally from sectors such as retail, hospitality, property, real estate or other customer-facing businesses. Desirable Experience Finance transformation or systems implementation experience. Exposure to ERP and finance automation tools such as Sage Intacct, Yooz or similar platforms. Experience within a fast-growing or private equity-backed business. Multi-entity finance experience. Strong reporting and KPI development capabilities.
