Transport Manager

Job Title: Transport Manager Location: Dover Salary : £40,000 per annum Are you an experienced Transport Manager with a passion for leading high-performing teams, ensuring compliance, and delivering outstanding service? We're looking for a driven and proactive professional to take ownership of our transport operation and play a key role in maintaining efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction. As Transport Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily transport operation, ensuring that vehicles, drivers, and resources are utilised effectively while maintaining full compliance with all relevant legislation and company standards. Key Responsibilities: Manage and oversee the day-to-day transport operation. Ensure compliance with all DVSA, Operator Licence, and transport legislation requirements. Lead, motivate, and develop a team of drivers and transport personnel. Monitor fleet performance, vehicle maintenance schedules, and transport costs. Manage driver hours, tachograph compliance, and working time regulations. Coordinate route planning and resource allocation to maximise efficiency. Investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, and promote a strong safety culture. Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. Analyse transport KPIs and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Ensure service levels are consistently achieved and exceeded. What We're Looking For: Previous experience in a Transport Manager position. CPC Transport Manager Qualification (National or International). Strong understanding of transport legislation and compliance requirements. Experience managing drivers and transport teams. Excellent organisational and planning skills. Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
