About the Position: This position is located within Blanchfield Army Community Hospital's Patient Administration Office. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Major duties

  • Acts as the Patient Identity Manager (PMI) by managing patient admissions, registrations, and healthcare eligibility verification processes.
  • Resolves patient identity errors by reviewing and correcting duplicate records, demographic discrepancies, and other mismatches to ensure accurate patient information.
  • Acts as the access security manager for enterprise software systems at the assigned military treatment facility and within the area of responsibility.
  • Supervises staff by setting priorities, assigning tasks, and evaluating performance to support efficient daily operations.
  • Oversees daily section reports correcting errors within the electronic health record (EHR) and automated health systems.
  • Prepares standard operating procedures and delivers staff training to ensure consistent application of administrative and reporting standards.
  • Coordinates patient travel or evacuation actions when needed to support safe and appropriate patient movement.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing automated healthcare systems for patient enrollment and eligibility verification; preparing or reviewing daily administrative and patient status reports in a healthcare facility; and assisting with distributing workloads among employees. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
