Senior Backend Engineer, IAM

Accountabilities: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services supporting authentication, authorization, and identity management.

Drive the technical direction of high-impact IAM initiatives, ensuring systems remain secure, reliable, and highly performant.

Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, product, and security teams to define priorities, architecture, and long-term technical roadmaps.

Lead the delivery of complex distributed systems projects aligned with business and engineering objectives.

Improve platform scalability, resilience, and operational excellence through thoughtful system design and continuous optimization.

Mentor and support other engineers by sharing technical expertise, providing guidance, and fostering engineering best practices.

Continuously expand technical knowledge while contributing to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

5+ years of experience designing and building large-scale distributed backend systems.

At least 2 years of experience working within security-sensitive domains such as Identity and Access Management (IAM), Security, Privacy, or Anti-Abuse.

Strong understanding of identity management concepts, authentication protocols (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML), session management, and authorization models including RBAC, ABAC, ReBAC, or centralized authorization frameworks.

Proficiency in one or more backend programming languages, with Go being highly preferred.

Experience with or willingness to learn modern cloud infrastructure and DevOps technologies, including Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, AWS, and GCP.

Demonstrated ability to identify, lead, and successfully deliver high-impact technical initiatives.

Excellent communication, collaboration, mentoring, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
