Accountabilities: Monitor breaking soccer news, live matches, and trending stories, using strong editorial judgment to identify the most relevant developments for audiences.

Write clear, concise, and accurate breaking news articles, headlines, captions, and live updates while maintaining high editorial standards under tight deadlines.

Deliver engaging push notifications that highlight major news, must-watch moments, and feature content to maximize audience engagement.

Curate news feeds by selecting a balanced mix of written articles, videos, and social media content from trusted sources.

Pitch, research, and produce feature stories, analysis pieces, and opinion content covering major soccer events, emerging talent, transfers, and key storylines.

Collaborate with editorial leadership and newsroom colleagues to ensure comprehensive, high-quality sports coverage across multiple digital platforms.

Support additional editorial initiatives and newsroom projects as needed in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.

Requirements

Strong expertise in soccer, including teams, players, competitions, statistics, history, and current trends within the global game.

Solid understanding of digital journalism, mobile publishing, social media platforms, and audience engagement strategies.

Previous experience as a news editor, sports writer, or journalist in a professional or academic newsroom is preferred.

Degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field is preferred.

Proven ability to make sound editorial decisions, write accurately under pressure, and meet demanding deadlines.

Excellent writing, editing, headline creation, and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Availability to work rotating schedules, including evenings, nights, weekends, and major sporting events.
