Compliance Officer - Regulatory
Flow Traders is looking for an experienced Compliance Officer to join its Regulatory Compliance team in Amsterdam. In this role, you will advise the business on the regulatory impact of new initiatives in both traditional capital markets and the fast-changing digital-assets space, including crypto-assets, tokenised financial instruments, and related trading and market-infrastructure activities.
You will turn complex regulatory requirements into clear, practical, and business-focused advice. You will support the development and implementation of new projects while helping to ensure compliance with applicable rules.. What you will do
Analyse existing and upcoming European regulations - including MiFID II / MiFIR, EMIR, MAR, DORA, SSR, IFR / IFD, CRR and MiCAR - and translate requirements into clear, practical business and control measures
Advise the Trading department and other stakeholders on complex regulatory matters, taking account of trading strategies, market structure, execution, financial instruments, and operational processes
Lead and support regulatory change projects, from impact assessment and implementation through to ongoing monitoring and reporting
Own, maintain, and enhance the regulatory compliance framework, including policies, procedures, controls, and regulatory risk assessments, with a focus on trading-related requirements
Provide independent second-line challenge and oversight on new business initiatives, products, and trading activities
Support the launch and scaling of digital-asset trading activities, including advice on MiCAR and its interaction with MiFID II / MiFIR
Engage with regulators, exchanges, and other external stakeholders, including in relation to enquiries, inspections, and audits
Deliver regulatory updates and compliance training to relevant stakeholders and senior management
Collaborate closely with the Team Lead Regulatory Compliance
What you need to succeed
5–8+ years of relevant experience in regulatory compliance within a financial markets environment
University degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
Strong and demonstrable knowledge of the European capital markets regulatory framework
Proven experience in drafting and implementing compliance policies and procedures
Experience interacting directly with regulators and managing regulatory inspections or audits
Experience advising business stakeholders in a global financial or exchange-trading environment
Strong understanding of financial instruments and financial markets
Experience performing regulatory impact assessments and compliance risk analysis
Strong interest in and affinity with digital assets
High level of integrity, independence, and professional judgment
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders
