FINANCIAL/ACCOUNTS SPECIALIST

IMPORTANT NOTE: The exact job title for this position is Accounts Payable Specialist. Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of high-volume invoices, including reviewing, coding, and entering invoices into the financial system with proper account and cost center allocation. Handles department credit card reconciliations and ensures transactions are supported by complete and accurate receipts. Responds to vendor inquiries, resolves payment-related concerns, and manages vendor statements and reconciliations. Assists with audit requirements and month-end/year-end closing activities, including accruals, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Reviews and processes employee expense reimbursements in accordance with the company’s travel and expense reimbursement policies. Supports 1099 submissions and other regulatory filings, and assists the AP Manager with ad hoc reports and other projects as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred; minimum 3 years of proven work experience in general accounting operations; knowledgeable in US GAAP; experience with QuickBooks required; passion for emerging technology and systems; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office programs; ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment; demonstrated problem-solving and ability to work efficiently; ability to meet tight deadlines and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment; keen eye for detail and organized; insurance industry experience is not required but is a plus.
